Nevada Metal Detecting

Nevada’s silver and gold mining history and extensive BLM land holdings make it one of the most metal detecting-friendly states in the West. The ghost town landscape across the Great Basin holds a century and a half of mining era artifacts, and Nevada’s open desert provides some of the best visual prospecting conditions in the country. BLM land is generally open to detecting, but always verify that your specific location is not in a special management area or Archaeological District before heading out.
